Abbeyfield South West celebrates Abbeyfield's 70th Anniversary

Abbeyfield South West Society celebrated 70 years of Abbeyfield at Abbeyfield, Torrington with a summer fete full of homemade treats!

Despite the rain forcing everyone indoors, the afternoon was a great success, raising £521.10 through raffles, stalls and homemade produce. The money will go towards the residents' comfort fund.

To mark the anniversary, the team held a special bake-off, with the Mayor, a volunteer and a member of staff judging the entries. There were plenty of delicious bakes to choose from, and congratulations go to all the winners and runners-up!

The afternoon was a lovely opportunity for residents, staff, volunteers and the local community to get together and celebrate this special milestone.

A big thank you to everyone who helped organise the fete, donated prizes, baked treats or gave their time to make the day happen.

Even with the change of plans due to the weather, it was a wonderful afternoon and a great way to celebrate 70 years of Abbeyfield while raising money for residents.
