Joining many Abbeyfield houses across England and Wales, The Abbeyfield & Wesley Housing Association in Northern Ireland held celebrations at their Ballymena house for the 70th anniversary of the Abbeyfield Movement.

The Association was honoured to be joined by the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Thomas Gordon, who came to show his support for the ongoing care and support Abbeyfield & Wesley provide to the local community.
More than 50 residents, family members, staff and community members were in attendance to mark the occasion. The Mayor, alongside Ethel McDonald, the Ballymena House's longest-standing resident, cut the cake in front of the guests, marking the beginning of many celebrations of the cause.

The Abbeyfield & Wesley Housing Association proudly carry out founder Richard Carr-Gomm's work, providing support and companionship to older people across Northern Ireland. Visit the The Abbeyfield & Wesley Housing Association website to learn more.
