Abbeyfield Billericay Society is seeking a warm, organised, and practical House Manager to take responsibility for managing the day-to-day running of Archer House, our friendly, community-focused, independent living residence for older people. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead a small, independent living home while helping to shape a welcoming, supportive community, and to make a real difference to the lives of older people. The role will appeal to candidates who enjoy combining practical management responsibilities with supporting older people to live independently.
The successful candidate will help create a safe, welcoming, and well-run home where residents can enjoy independence, companionship, supported living, and a strong sense of community. Duties include supporting residents’ general wellbeing, managing staff, liaising with families, visitors, and trustees, coordinating household routines and catering, helping with enrichment activities, and ensuring communal areas are comfortable and well maintained.
We are looking for someone approachable, reliable, and confident in a people-focused role, and with good IT skills. We will require you to undertake a level 4 qualification in the next four years if you do not already have an equivalent qualification. We will fund the training.
Experience in team management and experience of working in residential, independent, or supported living is essential.
Hours: 8.30 – 4.30, Monday to Friday.
Salary £35,000, but negotiable for the right candidate.
