Supported housing in Colwyn Bay

Abbeyfield Colwyn Bay Society are a member society of The Abbeyfield England Society a national charity providing houses and homes to older people throughout the UK. Together we are one big family.

We provide comfortable and friendly atmospheres in all of our supported houses, which are suitable for retired people who no longer want the worry of bills, shopping and cooking for themselves. Enjoy your later life with privacy when you need it, with companionship and support from our staff and residents.

Our retirement homes

We have three high quality homes in the Rhos on Sea and Colwyn Bay area. Have a look around.

A place to relax and find companionship

The Abbeyfield Colwyn Bay Society celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2022. The Society was founded by Nell Street who was later awarded an M.B.E for her services to charity. The Society offers sheltered housing supported living for the elderly.

We provide a comfortable atmosphere, suitable for retired people who no longer want the worry of bills, shopping and cooking for themselves. Residents are encouraged to live as independently as possible, some of our residents still drive and some have found that surfing the internet has opened up yet another world.

The supported houses we run are set in mature attractive gardens, all situated within easy walking distance to local shops, supermarkets, bus stops and the promenade at Rhos on Sea. Also, with our close proximity to the Snowdonia National Park and the beautiful North Wales Coast, our location is perfect for your retirement.

Today Abbeyfield Colwyn Bay Society owns three houses in and around the Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea area, varying in size from 8 to 13 residents. These are all run to offer supported living for older people in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Live music performances

Sing, sing a song.

We love music at Abbeyfield House and often invite local musicians in to perform. So far we've heard from pianists, harpists, live signers, ukelele players and guitarists.
