Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 9-15 Feb 2026
National Apprenticeship Week is a chance to celebrate the positive impact apprenticeships have on individuals, organisations and communities – and at Abbeyfield England, we are proud to be part of that story.
Apprenticeships play an important role in developing skills, building confidence and creating meaningful career pathways. They bring fresh perspectives, new ideas and energy into our teams, while supporting people to learn, grow and thrive in a supportive working environment.
At Abbeyfield England, apprenticeships help strengthen our work by adding capacity, supporting innovation and enabling us to better serve our member societies. They reflect our commitment to investing in people and ensuring our organisation continues to develop sustainably for the future.
As we mark National Apprenticeship Week 2026, we celebrate the contribution apprentices make across Abbeyfield England and the wider sector. Their commitment and willingness to learn play an important part in supporting our mission and strengthening the Abbeyfield community.

Meet Alex Giles - Digital Marketing Apprentice
We’re delighted to introduce Alex Giles, our Digital Marketing Apprentice at Abbeyfield England. Alex is part of the Partnership Support Team, where she plays a key role in strengthening support for our member societies by adding valuable digital capacity.
Regarding her new role Alex commented;
'I'm really looking forward to seeing my work make a difference and expanding my skillset at Abbeyfield England. It's great to be learning and making a difference at the same time!'
Alex will help bring the Abbeyfield story to life by sharing member news, updates and success stories across Abbeyfield England’s digital channels. She brings with her hands-on experience from working with charity social media, ensuring that the great work happening across the network is seen, celebrated and shared.
We are really looking forward to working with Alex and reading the stories, activity, campaigns and achievements across Abbeyfield England.
