Grove House celebrates volunteers 22 years on

Grove House in Ilkley, managed by Abbeyfield The Dales, organised a special celebratory tea party to recognise the key team of people who were instrumental in the re-opening of Grove House in 2003, after it had been left empty for a few years. The contributions of the late Shannon Houliston and Brian Whittaker, and Ian Hepworth – who is now the Society’s Secretary – were acknowledged for their efforts bringing many people together to raise funds, develop plans and refurbish the house.

The Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire, Vicky Reynolds, unveiled a plaque alongside Ian, who then gave a brief history of how the project unfolded. Also in attendance were the Society’s trustees, former trustees, residents, and members of staff who were working for Abbeyfield at the time.
